The Book Jacket for "Potpourri of the Mind"
Front and Back Covers

Front cover
The jacket
and internal graphics for the book were designed by
my son Kevin who is a professional creative designer.
He has won a national graphics design award for each
of the past four years.
A picture of the front
cover will appear here shortly.

Back cover
The back of the book jacket shows a picture of me wearing
my Dartmouth class blazer. The information on the
back cover - - which may be somewhat difficult to
read - - is as follows:
Joel D. Ash graduated
from Dartmouth College in 1956 after majoring in art
and psychology. He also holds a Master of Science
degree from the Thayer School of Engineering at
Dartmouth. The author has traveled around the world
extensively as an executive with International
Telephone and Telegraph and as the president of his
own consulting firm. Mr. Ash is now retired and
resides in Weston, Connecticut. He has recently been
designated Poet Laureate for the Dartmouth class
of 1956.

A graphical design note:
My son Kevin did not design this
website - - this time, my other son, Deron, who is a
web designer helped me.
And a philosophical note:
Both of my sons and I are firm believers in the value
of art as well as science. That view is expressed in the following
stanza which is an excerpt from a poem
entitled RENAISSANCE MAN on page 108 of POTPOURRI OF
THE MIND.
The Renaissance man holds my heart,
A believer in science and art;
In life beyond college,
The full range of knowledge,
All of man's works - - not just part.
